The Art Fair Journey

Friend: “Hello! How are you? Looks like you have gotten a little sun recently. What have you been doing?”

Me: “I have been traveling a little. I have been outdoors most weekends…storing up the sunshine for winter.”

What I really did was embark on an exciting journey of various art fairs. I was invited to participate in Art in the High Desert in Bend, OR; Art in the Pearl in Portland, OR; the St. Louis Art Fair in Clayton, MO; the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City, MO; and the Peoria Fine Art Fair in Peoria, IL. In total, I traveled about 5,293 miles.

I am grateful to each of you who came to see me at these events. Whether you made a purchase, said hello, or helped with setup and teardown, you made these road trips worthwhile and memorable. Thank you so much!

Heartfelt Thanks

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my brother-in-law, who fixed my dented tent pole and steam-cleaned my booth rug. To Owen, who discovered that setting up the tent and tearing it down could be fun. To my husband, who has patiently listened to my trials and tribulations and offered to help drive the van home. Most of all, I want to thank my sister for her unwavering support during these long art fair weekends in the Midwest. You are all wonderful.

Traveling to these art fairs has been an incredible experience. Each location offered unique opportunities to connect with art lovers and fellow artists. I enjoyed sharing my passion for handweaving and showcasing my work. The interactions I had with visitors were inspiring and energizing.
