I don't make sweaters

The origin and meaning of sweater (n.)

"woolen vest or jersey, originally worn in rowing," 1882, from earlier sweaters "clothing worn to produce sweating and reduce weight" (1828), plural agent noun from sweat (v.).

Cloth is woven in my studio. Technically, a woven fabric is any fabric made by interlacing two or more threads at right angles to one another. Customers tell me that they feel compelled to touch my delightfully soft, woven fabrics.
