My wall quilts and artful pillows can now be found in the Row Boat Gallery in Pacific City, Oregon and select shows.
Fabrics for Interiors is a new product line from my studio. Usually, I cut my fabric for jackets or coats. There are pieces left over. In an effort to use all of the fabric with little waste, I set my mind to designing with this fabric.
There is a very active quilting community in Pacific City where Karen lives. Fiber people like to “hang out” together and share techniques and projects. Denise Clausen is one of those fiber friends. She is a professional quilter and has collaborated on projects with Karen that involve long arm quilting techniques. The end result of a weaver being exposed to a quilter’s tools and techniques has resulted in a new product line of quilts and pillows from the handwoven chenille fabrics. Backed with linen, these new items are rich in color and a delight to touch. These can be purchased at the Latimer Textile Center in Tillamook, Oregon.
Both quilts below have a sleeve for hanging.
